Last April, we decided to put our house up for sale. We hoped to sell during the summer before our daughter went back to school. I decided it would be best to put everything away and transform my “studio” back into the dining room it was meant to be. It was around the same time that I learned that Joann Fabrics was going out of business. It seemed like a good time to pause as I am not usually busy in the summer months. So much was uncertain. Our goal is to downsize, which would mean less space for me to work in. I didn’t know what to expect, and with my preferred fabric source now gone, I had to decide on the future of Classic Bark. So this year, I will be offering a scaled-down version of my shop. Even though it does not look like our house will sell by the end of summer, I still have the issue of finding the right place to purchase my fabric. Online fabric stores charge more when you buy less, so it is not my best option as I do not have the space to store large bolts of fabric. I also like to see what I am buying. Fleece can vary dramatically, so it is important for me to know exactly what I am purchasing. I do have some options that I will begin to explore soon, and I will keep you posted. I think the biggest impact will be not offering larger sizes and being limited on customizations. I am so proud of this shop and I enjoy creating these items for you.
A few fun facts about me are that I work as a costumer at Legoland in the summer and as a learning coach for a school in the Fall and Spring. I also have a 13-year-old daughter who is awesome and keeps me on my toes. Of course, I can’t forget to mention Brisket, our Treeing Walker Coonhound who never lets me forget when it is time to go for a walk. A beautiful and busy life!
Thank you for all of your support over the years, it has meant a lot to me.
